Paxil and Teen Depression Can Be Dangerous

Has your teen been prescribed the drug, Paxil, to combat depression?  If so, you may want to read on, as a study has been reanalyzed with important information.  It is a fact that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and others have warned about the dangers associated with Paxil (aka paroxetine) for quite some time, but the reanalysis brings attention back to the adverse side effects for teens and young people up to around age 24 using the drug, such as increased suicidal ideation and behavior problems, as well as heart problems with a depression drug called Tofranil (aka imipramine).  Studies actually showed that neither of these drugs prescribed by doctors for depression were any better in combating depression than a placebo in a study on young people.  GlaxoSmithKline is the maker of Paxil and a few years ago paid out three billion dollars for healthcare fraud, due to the fact it misbranded drugs and did not report safety data for some of their products.  The subject GlaxoSmithKline products included the drug, Paxil.

If you or a young loved one has been prescribed Paxil (paroxetine) and has experienced behavioral issues or suicidal thoughts, contact a mental health professional immediately and do not hesitate to contact Inserra & Kelley Law Offices for consultation as to whether you may be entitled to compensation.
