Amy’s Kitchen Recall

The U. S. Food and Drug Administration announced a voluntary recall by Amy’s Kitchen, Inc. as of March 22, 2015 for some of their products containing organic spinach that may contain Listeria monocytogenes. Many of you may have seen or purchased these products in your local supermarket’s frozen health section. The company’s organic spinach suppliers alerted them to the possibility of the spinach that could lead to listeria infection. Such an infection can give symptoms of fevers, bad headache, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and stiffness. Such a listeria infection can be deadly for people who have a compromised immune system, young children, and the elderly. It can also lead to miscarriages and even stillbirths in pregnant women, so it is a highly dangerous infection.
