Jim Quilty knows a lot about the railroad. He has been elected Vice General Chairman of the Union Pacific System Board, as well as General Chairman on two separate occasions. He has worked in the railroad union for nearly 39 years before retiring in 2006 as an International Vice President with TCU/Machinists. But his energetic smile and personality make it seem as if he could live it all again.
“I grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and started working on the Union Pacific Railroad in 1967.” Representing injured railroaders, Jim would refer their cases to Inserra & Kelley, making him a common name around the office.
“When I retired John and Craig asked me to come on as a field representative, making contacts with rail workers. I have worked for over 30 years in the business, so they could have me attend union meetings and get the name of the firm to other railroads.” Jim enjoys his work with the I&K team, feeling the dynamic of the team is integral to their success. He has been referring clients to the firm for nearly 20 years and has never heard a complaint.
“We have some of the best staff around. We work really well as a team to be as efficient as possible with cases.”
Available around the clock to clients, Jim enjoys spending his small spare time with his two young grandsons. “I am loving life right now,” he smiled.
