Leggo My Eggo Recall

waffle
Kellogg Co.
has issued a recall on ten thousand cases of their Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles, so their famous commercials in which they say “Leggo my Eggo” have come true for at least one of their brands!  The waffles being voluntary recalled may contain listeria bacteria, which regular readers of our site will know by now causes very unpleasant symptoms such as abdominal pain, headache, body aching/stiffness, high fevers, and vomiting and diarrhea.

The listeria bacteria infection seems unpleasant enough, but it can go to the territory of being extremely dangerous for some populations.  The infection can spread to the gastrointestinal tract and also the nervous system and can even lead to death.  For the elderly, young children, immune system depresses, and pregnant population the danger is even greater.  For the pregnant woman, the problem can grow from her own sickness to miscarriage or stillbirth of the baby she is carrying.  It is obvious that infection from listeria bacteria is no small matter and should be taken very seriously.  Check your Eggo Waffle box to see if it gives a “best if used by” date of November 21, 2017 or November 22, 2017.  You can call Kellogg Co. at 1-800-962-1413 to confirm whether your product may be contaminated and how you may get a full refund.  The company recommends that the waffles themselves by immediately thrown out to avoid illness in your family.  Kellogg Co. is no stranger to safety issues with its Eggo Waffles and has in the past been called out by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its safety standards in its plants.

If you or someone you know have any of these products in your home, dispose of them promptly.  If you or a loved one is suffering from symptoms like high fever, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headaches, stiffness, and nausea, and it is suspected it could be following the ingestion of one of the above products, see your medical provider immediately.  You may also feel free to call Inserra Kelley Sewell to discuss possible compensation you might be entitled to in the case of listeria infection from contaminated products.
